Super sugary but deliciously flavorful and flakey. $9 but so worth it. Cruffin: 11/10 Small shop with a few stools but they have an outdoor deck with more seating. ”

Their smears are delicious, however, the expiration date is usually within 2 days which sucks cause it's a lot that's being wasted at times. They said it usually last 7 days past the best by date but sometimes it doesn't smell right and I wouldn't trust it. Service is great and super fast! If you order DoorDash pick up and set for a later time.... They usually just get it done and let it sit out until then. Sometimes that's fine but not when you get smears and it's just sitting for hours out in a bag... l ”

“ I've been on a sourdough bread kick lately and was happy when this nicely sized freshly made loaf was given to me. The City Sourdough Loaf comes sliced or unsliced for $11. I enjoyed each slice that was nice and soft in the center with an amazing crispy crust. Toast the slice and it's even more delicious. I checked out the website and loved that the bread was made using very minimal ingredients, four to be exact. I'll definitely check out this spot myself next time I'm in the area. ”

The croissant display in the window instantly caught my eye, so I couldn't resist walking in after grabbing my bagels. I picked up a butter croissant, pain au chocolat, and almond croissant. First off, the croissants were beautifully made with the honeycomb side cut. I couldn't wait to dive into the butter croissant, and it did not disappoint--it was so comparable to the ones I had in Paris. Flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of richness. It bounce back when you bite into it. I The almond croissant was also amazing; it seems they use their own house-made almond butter, which was a game-changer. You can actually taste the chunks of almond, and it's not overly sweet like many others. The pain au chocolat was equally delicious, with a rich, decadent chocolate filling that was just perfect in every bite. While their pastries are on the pricier side, and it's definitely a bit out of my way, I'm already thinking about my next visit. If you're looking for top-notch pastries in Santa Monica, this is definitely a spot worth checking out! ”

“ Cared for my Cook Club buddy's cat while she vacayed away. Cat Mom to more than a few kitties, no stranger to scoop the poop, fill the kibble, replenish the water. Never saw her mystery cat in two weeks save on each visit a plentiful litter box, empty food, diminished water dishes; a good thing, right. Whew, cat didn't escape! A hit and run would have been devastating for her but especially for me left in charge. Grateful friend rewarded me with a Jyan Isaac Bread way too much loaded gift card. Stopped today to stock up on my hubby's and my fave sourdough pumpernickel bagels. Mind you these are prebiotic gut friendly due to the sourdough. Bagels were still warm, filling the car with an earthy, tart aroma similar to rye flour. Immediately sliced, halved one to create a lettuce tomato Vegenaise smeared sandwich with plenty of pepper and sea salt. Froze the rest to enjoy another day, to encompass another sandwich... Staff is pleasant, efficient. Parking's tough here but worth leaving your car on Ocean Park Boulevard a few, if not many steps away with observance to meters and sweeping restrictions. Get your carbs on here! ”

“ LA has upped its bread shop game.. Aside from the storefront location in Santa Monica, you can find Jyan Isaac Bread at several Farmer's Markets and coffee shops. Just happen to be strolling on my way to Levain's on Larchmont early on a Sunday and wander into Larchmont Farmers Market where you'll find a Jyan Isaac Bread booth. Their bread is not your typical grocery store bread. They used whole wheat heirloom and ancient grains. I picked up a loaf of Emmer Pan and a pain au swisse. The emmer pan bread is dense and appears to be naturally leavened. It was great with a smack of French butter. I've never had pan au swisse. Wish I bought another, Reminds me of a flattened chocolate croissant with a cool spiral looking crust. Inside is a thin layer of vanilla custard and ample layer of chocolate chips. If I see this anywhere else, I'm getting this over the pain au chocolate. Worth trying Jyan Issac's breads and pastries if you run into them. You can also find them at several Go Get Em Tiger coffee shops. ”
